Bluereach has recognised that for many people, setting up a web site can be quite confusing.

To simplify things, we have put together a number of options for you to choose from, and attempted to put this short explanation together to explain some of the jargon used.

If you know what you want, and don't see a package that suits you, please ask.

If you want a web site that promotes your business or club that will hardly ever change then you want a basic web site.

If your site needs to be changed quite frequently, then you need a Content Management System (CMS). This will give you a control panel enabling the textual and graphical content of the site to be updated.

If you want to display your products but not sell directly on line, then you need a catalogue site.

If you want to sell on line directly from your catalogue of products, then you need a shopping cart with credit card processing facilities.

Both our catalogue and shopping cart come with a control panel that will enable you to keep your site up to date.

A Content Management System (CMS) will give you the ability to manage the content of your web site yourself.

Via a simple browser based control panel, you can change, update, create and remove items from the site. You can even add images to pages.

The system will allow different individuals access to seperate areas allowing different people to manage their own sections

There are many CMS's available that can be taken and modified. We tend to use the base Joomla open source CMS and will customise it to your requirements. Joomla is an open source product.

If you require a CMS, please first take a good look at a few sites offering a similar service to yourself before talking to us. If you simply want a web site set up with the standard Joomla release, without any customisation by us then choose the DIY option above.

We do not supply CMS's on CD. We wil only install/publish to the internet.
